Lets study various lifestyle related diseases as well as disorders with Ayurvedic perspectives:

Stress – the root cause of diseases

We are living in so much stressful times where Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit are all subjected to the ravages of day‐to‐day stress. Worries about security, economic difficulties, and emotional trauma etc. are truly taking a toll on health and longevity. Common symptoms of stressful condition are:

  • Fatigue
  • Hypertension
  • Imbalanced lipid profile
  • Other heart symptoms
  • Memory loss
  • Lack of endurance
  • Slow digestion
  • Low immunity
  • Sleeplessness
  • Physical and mental weakness
  • Lack of strength
  • Low energy

Stress & Ayurveda

Ayurvedic approach to treat stress effectively is targeting the etiological factors and bring balance in life. According to Ayurvedic texts there are three different manifestation of day-today stress:

  • Mental
  • Emotional
  • Physical

This means in normal conditions the body fat keeps the body moisturized , causes sweating , gives energy to body (by storing energy) and nourishes bones. (By protecting them from shock).

Imbalance in these three sub-doshas due to Physical stress condition can cause a person to experience physical fatigue, along with mental fogginess, difficulty in concentrating, and dullness of the mind. Another reason for physical stress can be too little exercise, which results in a sluggish digestion and the formation of AMA, the digestive impurities that clog the channels.
In either type of physical fatigue, the process of regenerating cells slows down, and thus the cells themselves become physically tired.

Ayurveda’s Approach to address stressful condition:

1. First Pacify humor imbalances by consuming prescribed combination of herbs & minerals

2. Secondly managing lifestyle identifying the type of stress;
